A book that conveys such an idea is really more dangerous than one which openly advocates wrong doing. Under the searching rays of these ideal conceptions even the “common-sense” to which “advanced” communities hold so tenaciously may begin to look something compacted rather of darkness than of light. I agree that no style is good, that is not fit to be spoken or read aloud with effect. 3. D. We are glad to get our reward–we certainly earn it; but I venture to say that in the case of most of us there is also something in the work that appeals to us.
